on quality not quantity. Our goal is to produce German Shepherd Pups
with sound minds and bodies. Special attention is paid to the intelligence
and trainability of the German Shepherd Dog.
Tribute
to one of the top German Shepherd Breeders
On Sunday May the
6th the dog and horse world lost a great man. Lawrence Anonychuk of
Canisphere Kennels
passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a dear friend
and mentor of ours, he will be sadly missed. Not every one in the
dog world always agreed with Lawrence, but with him you always knew
where you stood and he did not hesitate to tell you. He was a great
help to us here at Riesa, he placed his wonderful German Shepherd
SG Sasko von Canisphere
CD and the lovely Papillon Ch
Canisphere's Jumpin Juniper with us and several of his dogs sired
litters of ours. I can't express enough how much he helped us along
our way nor can I express how much he will be dearly missed by us
and his innumerable friends throughout the world. Canisphere Kennels
has been left in very capable hands and his legacy will continue on
with his great dogs and his vision of the dog world! My heart
goes out to his wife Karen and Daughter Darci in their time of grief,
but they are very strong women and I know that they will continue
on as strong as ever.
Rest dear friend your battle was
a brave one and you have many friends in the world who shall remember
you always and who are the better for knowing you.

and our philosophy
As Responsible
German Shepherd breeders all of our German Shepherds are WCVM, OVC or
OFA certified and all of our breeding German Shepherds have or are working
towards obedience titles. We strive to keep the intelligence and workability
of the German Shepherd Dog alive and strong in all of our pups, while
still meeting the all breed German Shepherd conformation standard. Temperament
or Structure extremes in either direction have no place at Riesa German
Shepherds and we feel are a detriment to the breed. Thanks to Lawrence
Anonychuk of Canisphere Shepherds we have access to some of the worlds
top producing German Shepherds and our breeding program includes these
highly rated and sought after Blood Lines. Thanks also goes out to Ann
Marie Leadbeater of Grunfeld shepherds for our wonderful brood female
Elka
von Grunfeld CD. She was our foundation female and she gave us wonderful
pups. Her daughters Fenix
and Diva are continuing in her foot steps.
Our D, F, G, H, and
I litter pups can be traced back to the first German Shepherd registered
with the SV
in Germany, That
is 108 years of German Shepherds. We breed what we believe in! We
will not scurry back and forth between types of Shepherds in order to
win in the Breed Ring or to make a fast buck! Our German Shepherds are
some of the few remaining German Shepherds that are owner handled and
trained. It may take us longer to achieve a Championship but it is worth
it.
We have one to two German
Shepherd litters a year, all of our pups get individual attention, and
are well socialized. The pups are born and raised in the house, and
will have some house and crate training. We believe your German Shepherd
pup should be a part of your family and we will not sell
a dog to a home that does not believe in this. All of our German Shepherd
pups come with a life time guarantee against serious genetic health
faults. Our German Shepherd pups have gone on to compete and receive
titles in many different venues. What is most important as German Shepherd
breeders is that the pups have gone on to be great companions and family
members.
